As the CEO of Kyosk Digital Services, Raphael Afaedor brings a wealth of experience in e-commerce and technology to the forefront.


A citizen of Ghana, Raphael has built a career in Africa's emerging technology space and is committed to expanding digital-first solutions across the continent. Before founding Kyosk, Raphael co-founded Jumia.com, the largest online retailer in Africa, and led its growth as co-CEO. He subsequently founded Supermart, the leading grocery delivery service in Sub-Saharan Africa.


Raphael's career began at Monster.com, where he worked as a Senior Product Manager in charge of Software Products for 18 Western European countries. He then worked as an Associate Investment Manager at Goldman Sachs, in London, UK, before moving to Notore Chemical Industries in Nigeria, where he served as Head of Marketing Business Development for West, Central, and North African nations, including Nigeria.


Raphael holds an impressive academic record, with an MSc with first-class honors in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the Czech Technical University, an MSc in Marketing with honors from IUKB, Switzerland, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.


He is an accomplished business leader and has been recognized for his contribution to Africa's technology scene - Raphael was named top 40 under 40 in Nigeria in 2013 by Business Day, the leading business newspaper in Nigeria.


Kyosk Digital Services is a testament to Raphael's innate sense of entrepreneurship and innovation, addressing a critical need in Africa's retail ecosystem by providing a data-led and digital-first distribution platform to solve issues of financial inclusion and small-holder farmer yield improvement and market access for middle to lower income urban and rural Africa.


His vision for Kyosk.App goes beyond just enabling small retail businesses with access to top-notch products and services but driving economic growth and enhancing livelihoods within African communities.
